As part of my annual goal setting and setting my business and life vision, I came across a Workbook by a lady called Leonie Dawson. Now Leonie is Australian and more hippy and spiritual then me. She talks about angels and mermaids, sending out wishes to the universe to bring abundance. Not the sort of talk this down to earth, British woman is drawn to.
But I was. I loved the creativity of the workbook she produced, and whilst not packed with deep business information or guidance, it asked questions that have made me clarify some key areas of my business. Most of all it felt like play as I was completing it and I did use a sparkly gel pen!! Not like me at all in a business setting, yes at the kitchen table with my treasures, but to write out my strategy!!
What I like about her ethos is that she makes work look fun, light, a joy to experince. That's how I want my passion for coaching to be. That's why I want to video in the woods, even if I look like a crazy lady. It's fun. It's different. Not a drudge, a drain and a ... can't think of another d word. LOL.
So I felt the need to share my vision of my business for 2015 on a more spiritual Leonie style level. She asks you to invoke what the business will look like. I hope you can see where I am hoping to take my lovely dream and that you come with me for the ride. I know it's going to be intense, fun, exciting because that's how I am going to make it!
Wood for The Trees 2015
My business looks like a tree in winter that is excited because it can see spring blossoming in the horizon. It's beautiful, but stark, waiting for nature to take it's course at the right time. It can't be rushed. The seasons dictate the timeframe. It has to be patient and let the stages of its development happen before it bares any ripe, juicy fruit.
Each stage of its life cycle is critical to its development and will ensure that the tree is strong from its roots up, that it is lush, abundant. It will withstand many winters and whatever the weather throws at it.
It is nourished from root to tip with the love of the sun and the rain.
It is ready. It is the beginning of this cycle. The end of the last. The broken twigs and fallen leaves are in the past and will have a chance for regrowth, stronger for the experience.
I am its gardener. I am there to feed, weed, nourish and tend to it, so that it can stand strong and proud with all the other trees in the wood.
I hope you enjoyed my vision. I'm off now for a frolic in the woods....
