As a purpose driven, ambitious woman in business how is your relationship with money?

What if money isn’t enough?

Having talked to 100s of purpose driven women in business over the last 6 years, one thing has become clear. Many of them
shy away from putting money into their success definition.

For some it’s because they have given up
top salaries and high profile roles because their burnout led them to believe that money can’t buy them happiness.

For some it’s because they have a passion and desire to do good things in the world and
financial reward doesn’t appear to be the primary driver in their business.

For some it’s because they have been taught that
seeking wealth is vulgar or selfish.

Whatever the underlying reason, it becomes clear when using my 5 step process to define success that these beliefs will be the very thing that will stop their business success and create a
financial ceiling that they will continually sabotage themselves from breaking through.

So, I ask you.

What are you
making money mean about you or about others?

What judgement are you placing on yourself or others?

What would creating a lot of money mean for you?

Once you’ve thought about that.

Consider this....

Where do these beliefs come from?

Are they yours? Or have they been created from the decade you were born in, the family situation you were born into, an experience you have had that left a lasting scar, the gender you were born into, the colour of your skin?

All of
these  factors can dictate what you believe, think and how you behave. If you let them.

That’s right, you have a choice.

A choice to decide
what you believe NOW.

NOW as the purpose driven, woman you are.

Can you
create a relationship with money that allows you to thrive and to contribute widely with any excess money you might create? Would this feel good? Would this feel like a great way to feel successful

You see until you do that, you will be
sabotaging yourself by:

  • Not committing to activity in your business that will generate income and clients.
  • Not committing to pricing that reflects the value you offer.
  • Not serving clients who are happy to pay for your services
  • Not showing up consistently, which comes across as unreliable to potential clients.
  • Not enjoying your work and impact because you feel like it’s not achieving its potential.

I know because until I put money into my Success definition in the early days of setting up Wood for the Trees Coaching I experienced some of these too.

The
secret to your Success is having a clarity of Vision and a definition that reflects who you are and how you show up when you are in your next level truth. Not the Mean Little Cow voice, subconscious, survival thinking, but your sage, creative and inspiring truth that will allow you to enjoy all aspects of your business and make them happen, including receiving money happily for the service/products you supply. It’s absolutely NOT the only marker of success, but it’s the one most clients are reluctant to address, which is why I am bringing it to the fore here. By not addressing it you are going to find your business stalls, stagnates or self implodes

If you find that you are falling out of love for your business because:

  •  it’s not giving you what you thought you wanted;
  • or your monetary goals feel uncertain in the current climate;
  • or you are avoiding the work because the ideas you have feel too big;

"The immediate result of my Success Session has been a new approach to my business and life - being more confidently assured that I am working towards and taking action to my success, and living it on the way. Results have meant more focus on my home and relationships, and in my business it's allowed me to embrace being bold and having fun.

Its also helped me focus my investments and support on these areas where it will support my success. I loved the lightbulbs it created - that things I had been resisting are part of the plan and part of my success definition so I needed to nurture those areas rather than avoid them".
